Connecting Traffic Cabinets with 2-Wire
Cabling using VDSL2
Our latest case study addresses the challenge faced by traffic engineers when upgrading outdated traffic signal communication systems that relied on 2-wire cabling from analog dial-up modems. With a project bid for new fiber optic installation estimated beyond their budget, they sought a more cost-effective solution to enable Ethernet connectivity between four intersections.
Antaira provided the IVC-4011-T-V2 VDSL2 technology, which bridges Ethernet over existing 2-wire cabling, allowing for data transmission speeds of up to 100Mbps over distances of up to 0.75 miles. This solution enhanced real-time monitoring, data logging, and central control operations, enabling efficient management of traffic signals, emergency vehicle preemption, and adaptive signal control without the need for extensive trenching.
The grand opening of Antaira Technologies’ new global headquarters, held on August 8, 2024 was a monumental milestone. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by Clark County Commissioner Naft, who remarked, “As a manufacturer of the IT infrastructure, hardware, and software, their organization adds to the industry diversity we have been working for.” We look forward to contributing to the thriving business community here in Las Vegas.
