Antaira's New Patented Technology: Persistent PoE!
Persistent PoE is a patented technology feature found on Antaira’s bt PoE managed switches. This feature allows an Antaira switch to reboot while still delivering PoE power to a connected PoE-powered device.
With an increased number of devices relying on power delivered through a switch’s PoE feature, the Persistent PoE technology has become vital. When the switch firmware needs to be updated, - it requires a reboot. During this reboot, it would be ideal to prevent the attached PoE-powered IP camera from also rebooting, since certain cameras can take several minutes to reboot, creating a temporary blind spot in the camera’s surveillance footage. It is also common for PoE lighting and PLCs to be powered by a switch’s PoE, however, if these devices are not available while the firmware is updating, problems could arise.
