Antaira Harnesses Solar Power to
Support Operations at Brea, CA Headquarters

 

BREA, CA, OCTOBER 05, 2022 -- October commences National Energy Awareness Month, a celebratory time in which organizations provide leadership in energy management and building optimization. Leading by example, Antaira Technologies announced today it has equipped the roof of its 20,000-square-foot headquarters in Brea, California with 84 high-efficiency solar panels as part of its overarching sustainability strategy and transition to a net-zero carbon emission future.

In a dedication ceremony last Friday, September 30, Antaira "flipped the switch" on the new system that is expected to generate 410-470 kW of electricity each day or approximately 170,000 kW annually. In its first year, the system will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 265,000 pounds — the equivalent of six garbage trucks of waste. It will also directly offset Antaira’s energy costs, resulting in an estimated savings of $550,000 over the next decade.

According to Carl Stelling, vice president of Antaira Technologies, the completion of the solar project is an important milestone in Antaira's history as an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) company.

"In adopting the principles of ESG we are taking aggressive steps every day to lower our carbon footprint and reduce waste, while employing a diverse and inclusive workforce to meet our customers' needs," explained Stelling. "Throughout our global operations we have made environmentally responsible upgrades consistent with our commitment to protect the environment including LED lighting, occupancy sensors, and energy-efficient HVAC systems. We are proud that these initiatives have decreased energy consumption, plus have improved employee health, well-being, and productivity. The new solar program in Brea is another positive step in our journey to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable society for all."
