Antaira Technologies has just released an Industrial NAT Router also known as the LRX-0200. This NAT router has unique features such as 1:1 NAT and OpenVPN client which will work with Antaira's ConnectVPN service.
Automation environments often require the use of networks with the same IP addresses. This will allow the maintenance of the machine’s network to be interchangeable with other machines in order to make configurations streamlined. But duplicate IP addresses will cause issues on a network. NAT routers such as Antaira's LRX-0200 is the perfect solution allowing administrators to identify several LAN IP addresses to the exterior interface of the router which allows several interior IP addresses to be accessed. This is often referred to as 1:1 NAT.
This router is also equipped with an OpenVPN client which can be connected to Antaira’s ConnectVPN service giving access to the automation systems components anywhere internet access is available. This does require that the router have access to the internet through the connection on the outward facing port.
Antaira has developed a cloud Virtual Private Network or VPN system called Antaira ConnectVPN. It facilitates the interconnection of remote devices through the use of Antaira’s wireless router series for configuring, monitoring, and collecting of data. In certain industrial applications, remote devices needing to be configured, monitored or have data collected may be tucked behind a simple NAT router.
To gain access to devices behind NAT routers without exposing the device to attacks from the internet, a VPN is a great solution. The Antaira ConnectVPN system allows customers to manage their own VPNs by allowing them to create, configure and group VPN connections as needed.
