New US Patent for Antaira Technologies:
Specialized Safety Feature for
802.3bt PoE Ethernet Switches
BREA, CA – October 14, 2021 – – Antaira won a US patent for the technology solution of hot-swapping protection for Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices.
More applications (i.e; PTZ cameras, VoIP phones, lighting, etc…) are requiring a higher power demand with PoE (90W output) to simplify the networking environment and reduce the cost of infrastructure.
The high-power PoE applications run the risk of electric sparks, which can be detrimental in various industrial fields.
Antaira invented a solution to combat this arcing issue and has been granted a United States Patent (Pat No.: US 11,121,545 B2).
The technology was specifically designed for users to safely remove/insert RJ-45 copper cables on the high-powered 802.3bt PoE switches to prevent arcing.
Antaira’s unique technology now allows users to cut each specific port’s power off by using dip switches on the front panel before plugging or unplugging.
Users no longer have to turn off the entire industrial Ethernet switch which saves on the unnecessary downtime of data transmission.
This simply ensures the safety of PoE applications with higher power standards.
Antaira has implemented this new technology in some of its industrial IEEE 802.3bt PoE switches.
