August Insight: Antaira's Rapid Roaming

Antaira Technologies is excited to announce a new 802.11 Wireless router and Access Point (AP) feature called Rapid Roaming. Rapid Roaming is a proprietary protocol developed by Antaira Technologies for applications in which IEEE 802.11r (Fast Roaming) is not supported by the infrastructure network.

Under the Rapid Roaming protocol, the client radio will monitor the signal strength it receives. If the signal strength gets below a predetermined level, it will rapidly scan the area for an AP with stronger signal strength. If it finds one, it will then associate with that new AP. This way, if the infrastructure does not support Fast Roaming, there is still a way to maintain consistent communication with a mobile unit.

Antaira Technologies supports both 802.11r Fast Roaming and Rapid Roaming so that no matter what technology is available we have the best solution for your Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) application.
Antaira's Rapid Roaming feature is supported by our DIN Rail unit, the ARS-7235-AC, and our IP67-rated wireless router units, the ARX-7235-AC-PD, and the ARY-7235-AC-PD seen below!
