APPLICATION The Agricultural Internet of Things (AgIoT) world has seen a drastic rise in automated harvesting with a high demand for fresh produce and a decrease in affordable labor. A smart harvester in a strawberry field can have 15+ robots to separate leaves, visually inspect crops, pick, and pack ripe berries. The high-speed cameras on these harvesters require a gigabit connection and a 10-gigabit uplink to bring the data back to a local PC.
